Winterizing your Bike With the cooler weather upon us, a stagnant bike in your garage needs proper care and preparation so when spring comes along; it is ready to be taken out for that first ride! First, thoroughly clean and remove any road grime (adding a coat of wax will not hurt either). In addition, we recommend adding fuel stabilizer to any remaining gas in the tank. If the bike is carbureted, completely drain the carburetor of any remaining fuel. Removing the battery and installing an appropriate battery tender is advisable and will ensure the battery has a full charge when the warmer months roll around. Cover your ride with a bike cover or soft cotton sheet to keep it safe from being scratched or collecting dust and if it has a center stand…make sure to prop it up.
